At a separation of 13 km from Meppadi, 24 km from Kalpetta and 46 km from Sulthan Bathery, Soochipara Waterfalls, otherwise called Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, is an excellent cascade arranged in Vellarimala mountain scope of Wayanad, among the well known vacationer puts in Kerala. It is a standout amongst the most visited traveler spots to visit in Wayanad and is among prime place to visit on a Wayanad Trip. 

Soochipara Waterfalls is a 3 layered cascade, dropping from a tallness of around 200 meters. The cascade falls down into a huge pool, which is a decent place for swimming and showering. The name Soochipara given from the words soochi implies shake and para implies needle. One can see needle-formed shake here thus the name Soochipara. The water from Soochipara Falls later joins Chaliyar River after Vellarimala Hills close Cherambadi in Tamil Nadu. 

This cascade, encompassed by thick green woods, is outstanding amongst other cascades in Wayanad. A 20 minute drive from Meppadi will take you to this breathtaking cascade. Guests need to trek down for around 2 km to achieve the tumbles from the street point through well laid way. The trekking is of simple level, which takes around 30 minutes one way. There are high shots that guests may get a look at untamed life like Deer. 

The Sentinel Rock, a colossal shake which is around 200 meters in tallness, is perfect place for shake climbing. The course among Meppadi and Soochipara is agreed with wonderful tea bequests with an amazing background of Chembra Peak. The drive to Soochipara itself is a great ordeal. There are few tree-top settlement offices given by the backwoods division. One can have a dynamite perspective of the valleys of the Western Ghats from the tree-top cabin. 

Best time to visit Soochipara cascade is amid storm season as should be obvious the cascade at its fullest. The cascade would be generally dry in summer season and typically shut for guests from March to June.
